We entered as a couple and came out entirely different. It was a great itinerary, balanced in travel/rest / spiritual experience over 14 days. Being 64 years old, I was apprehensive about accompanying a Kailash group tour. Classic Vacations Nepal guided me every step of the way. The acclimatization days were perfectly timed, the food was the purest of vegetarians throughout, and our guides never seemed anything less than endlessly patient. There was no more difficult and blessed moment in my whole life than crossing Dolma La.
Definitely, I had dreamed of doing the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for more than 20 years. Classic Vacations Nepal handled every detail seamlessly the permits, the vegetarian food, the support of Sherpas on the parikrama. Mount Kailash and the holy bath at Mansarovar are beyond any words that I can write. Har Har Mahadev.
I am very pleased to say that both my family and I enjoyed a wonderful time on the 11-day helicopter package tour; everything was well taken care of! Accommodation in two separate and beautiful hotels while in Kathmandu was very comfortable; the food was plentiful and fresh/clean, and our Tibetan guides were always there for us, especially during the Parikrama. The weather caused us to be slightly delayed at one point, but the entire team kept us informed each step of the way through that issue, and assisted in arranging everything for everyone in an orderly manner. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Although I have traveled extensively, I have never experienced anything comparable to the spiritual aspect of Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. I found all of the Classic Vacations Nepal staff to be professional, caring, and extremely helpful, as they were there at any time I needed something. The acclimatization schedule was planned perfectly, and the helicopter leg of our journey made travel much more comfortable. As NRIs, we had doubts regarding the procedures of getting Visas and Permits for the Yatra along with travelling with the overseas group. The best decision we made was selecting Classic Vacations Nepal for our Kailash Yatra. Their attention to detail in providing highly skilled (and experienced) guides along with excellent organization/information made for a stress-free experience! It was more than a tour - it was life-altering. It's not every day you get to witness the awesome Tarboche Prayer Flag Ceremony before starting your sacred journey around Kailash! Witnessing the collective reverence of thousands of Tibetans at the Tarboche site during the height of the Saga Dawa festivities was quite simply breathtaking. The journey had a fantastic rhythm to it, with an ideal pace of travel and well-planned altitude acclimatisation along with very clean lodging and top-notch logistics. Seamless from Kathmandu through to Kailash, planning the logistics and permits for Tibet and the Kailash trip were the parts that really scared me, but Classic Vacations Nepal did such a phenomenal job with all the arrangements from transport, accommodation, meals, the required permits and the daily detailed briefing.

Everything was perfectly managed, from the Kathmandu temple excursions to the spiritual Tarboche ceremony and the pilgrimage hike of Kailash Kora. I always felt that our guides actually cared about how we were feeling (especially at the altitude!) and consistently kept us as safe and healthy as possible, resulting in a spiritual journey like no other.
What can I say? Classic Vacations Nepal put together our absolute dream trip for us, and it was my first trip to Tibet! Our visa and permits were sorted without a hitch, and the support was immense. Everyone in the team wore a smile at all times, and the guides were always at hand with explanations about the spiritual significance of every landmark we visited, and there was always oxygen readily available if we required it. Climbing Kailash was truly an amazing and life-changing experience, and we would certainly recommend and travel with Classic Vacations Nepal again.
Classic Vacations Nepal has created a great balance of a 15-day itinerary, with travel, acclimatization, and meditation. They were particularly supportive in ensuring everyone walked the Kailash Parikrama at their own pace. Even at high altitude, meals and lodging were far better than I had anticipated. Their professional organization made for a completely hassle-free and enjoyable pilgrimage, right from start to finish.
