Trek Route
Our Classic Everest Base Camp Trek- 16 days will have a 2 nights pleasant stay in Kathmandu deluxe hotel with a cultural tour of the valley prior to flying to Lukla. This flight is a breathtaking trans himalayan flight to a small mountain airstrip in Lukla. From Lukla, we trek a classical route to Namche through the interesting sherpa villages of Phakding, Manjo and Jorsale. Namche is the famous sherpa town, and the gateway to Mt. Everest. We will have two nights acclimatization stays in Namche prior heading to Tengboche- one of the biggest buddhist monasteries in Everest Region. Onward, we trek to Dingboche, a nice himalayan valley where we stay 2 nights for complete acclimatization before heading to Lobuche & Gorekshep valley. We will visit Everest Base Camp in the afternoon, which is a great khumbu glacier section surrounded by snow capped peaks, and it is an incredible glacier place to visit.

Kalapathar (5545m) offers a close-up and incredible view of Mt. Everest ( 8848 m) and 360 degree views of all the Khumbu region's prominent peaks. Now onward, we retrace back to Lukla in 3 days time, then fly back to Kathmandu

Everest is the home of the Sherpa Peoples who have lived here for generations. Sherpa Peoples are known for their richest tibetan buddhist culture, lovely peoples with warmest hospitality and high altitude climbing skills.

Classic Everest Base Camp Trek-16 Days has been carefully planned with extra days in Kathmandu to adjust the local nepalese environment and weather prior to the trek. While at trek, we take you slow and steady with enough extra days of acclimatization to ensure full acclimatization in altitude, and safety trip. You will have an extra day acclimatization day in Namche at 3400m and another extra day acclimatization at Dingboche at 4410m for a full acclimatization process prior heading to Everest Base Camp at 5364m.

This trek is not a rush to reach Everest Base Camp, but a gentle walk in the valleys to enjoy the full himalayan experiences, beautiful valleys and local Sherpa lives. Literally, this itinerary suits both experienced trekkers and novice trekkers planning this himalayan trekking in Everest Base Camp (5364m) with us.

Important Trip Note

The Classic Everest Base Camp Trek takes place in a high-altitude environment where weather, flight schedules, and physical endurance can greatly affect your experience. Flights to and from Lukla are often delayed or canceled due to unpredictable mountain weather—build in buffer days to your itinerary. Altitude sickness is a real risk above 3,000 meters; follow acclimatization guidelines carefully, stay hydrated, and ascend slowly. Always trek with proper insurance that covers high-altitude evacuation, and consider traveling with a licensed guide or agency for safety and logistical support. Lastly, respect local customs and contribute to sustainable trekking practices—carry out trash, use refillable water containers, and support local teahouses and services.

Book with Local Agency:

Know About Altitude Sickness:
Before any trek, you should consult with your health professional for the relevant immunizations and information regarding medication and altitude. The key in our experience is to allow plenty of time for your body to adjust to the altitude – you can't rush the mountains – and we abide by the climber's maxim – "climb high and sleep low”. We especially encourage those travelers from areas of low sea level to always have a little more time up their sleeve so they can allow for extra rest days if needed. Trekking in Nepal means you are walking above 2500 meters, resulting in a high chance of suffering from altitude sickness no matter how fit you are. The altitude sickness mostly occurs above 2400m (8000 feet) and most people can ascend to this altitude without difficulty. However, it is hard to tell who will be affected by Altitude sickness because everyone reacts to altitude differently.

Symptoms of Altitude Sickness, Headache, Nausea and dizziness, Shortness of breath, Loss of appetite, Fatigue, Difficulty in sleeping, Lack of body coordination. The most effective way to cure altitude sickness is to stay alert for its symptoms, and if you or any member of your trekking group suffers from it descend to lower elevations as quickly as possible.

Treatment: Diamox (Acetazolamide):
Diamox (Acetazolamide) allows you to breathe faster so that you metabolize more oxygen, thereby minimizing the symptoms caused by poor oxygenation. Contact your physician for a prescription. Since Diamox is a sulfonamide drug, people who are allergic to sulfa drugs should not take Diamox. Diamox has also been known to cause severe allergic reactions to people with no previous history of Diamox or sulfa allergies.

Walk at your own Pace:
Walk slow and steady, rather than having to walk faster and stop frequently. Stop when you want to, sit back and relax, catch some breath, feast your eyes with the panorama, and take plenty of photographs. There are no rewards for those who reach or complete the trek first. By being slow and steady, you keep your heartbeat fairly constant, use less energy and cover more distance. There are also a couple of rest days which are included in the itinerary, to get acclimatized to high altitude, before going any further up. So, do not rush, the Himalayas are there and aren’t going anywhere.

Know About Nepal:
Before heading to Nepal, learn and get to know about Nepal. Do little homework about the culture and lifestyle, a bit of geography and history. It will surely come in handy and even help you overcome some of the cultural shock you (tourist/travelers) may face in Nepal. Also learn some basic local phrases to get you through Nepal.

A simple Hi/ Namaste or Thank You with a smile will definitely break the cultural barrier with the locals and help you get through loads of difficulties.

Drink Fluids/ Water:
You tend to get dehydrated quickly when trekking in high altitude. So, drink plenty of fluids and water during your treks in Nepal to keep yourself hydrated.

Note: Fluid does not mean beer or any other alcoholic beverages.

Everything that was promised was delivered. Thank you Chet

It was super time. Everything that was promised was delivered. Thank you Chet.

In October, Chet Bhatta of Classic Vacations Nepal organized a trek and tour of Bhutan for 4 of us.It was super time. Everything that was promised was delivered. When planning the trip, there were many questions which Chet responded to promptly. We had about 4 1/2 days of touring around Paro and Thimbu with a guide and private van and driver. In between we had a 9 day trek in the Jomolhari region. It was spectacular. There was a guide, cook, assistant cook, helper, pony man and 12 mules carrying our gear. After the 3rd day we did not see any other trekkers, only nomads and villagers. Our guide, Thai, who was with us throughout, was excellent. This is the second custom trek that Classic Vacations Nepal has organized for me, and I am looking forward to having Chet organize another trek. I recommend Classic Vacations Nepal and Chet Bhatta to those who want a unique experience and a custom trek and tour. Thanks so much Chet.

Really good support from Chet Bhatta at a difficult time
4.45

Really good support from Classic Vacations Nepal at a difficult time. Started on a wonderful trek up Gokyo Valley and a few high passes on the way to EBC. Only got to Gokyo before I was sick from a flu that became serious at high altitude. Our excellent guide Anuj got me in a helicopter for transport to hospital in Kathmandu and expedition manager Chet Bhatta visited me at the hospital and put me at a hotel in Kathmandu to recover and then helped with organizing less strenuous activities :-). Thank you for everything

I cannot say enough good words about Classic Vacations Nepal

I cannot say enough good words about Classic Vacations Nepal

I have been in a number of countries, and on a number of tours, but none of the companies I have toured with have been as good as Classic Vacations Nepal

They went above and beyond to see that my cousin and I were taken care of, had all necessary information and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Our guide and Sherpa were both excellent, not only informative and hard working, but also very kind, friendly and good people. In Kathmandu, a big big thank you to Chet Bhatta, who immediately made us feel like welcomed friends, and our time spent in Nepal most enjoyable, with many good memories for many years to come.

Without hesitation, I would recommend Chet Bhatta to anyone looking to trek in Nepal, or surrounding countries.

Best Trekking Company I have know
4.45

We did EBC Trek with Chet and his company, Classic Vacations Nepal.  Out of 5 vendors that we have requested for quotation and Chet be shortlisted after a thorough review by my team members. It may not be the lowest price we have received but through the engagement with CHET, his professionalism impressed us and gave us the confidence that his team would provide the best service as per the price we paid. Long story short, our 15-day trip proves that we have made the right choice, the tour guides and porters provided by him were professional, experienced and friendly. Despite the marvelous views we enjoyed throughout the trip, the friendship and support we have built in the journey was just another highlight of the trip.

Post my trip, I have recommended a few of my friends to Chet Bhatta and unsurprisingly, they came back safely with a happy face as they have been well taken care of by his company as I experienced.

I plan to revisit EBC via Gokyo in the next 5 years and I have no doubt that Chet and his company will be my 1st choice to go with. Happy trekking
